Care, Identity & the Work of Becoming 💜

Join St. Kate’s for an inspiring evening with alumna Sahra Noor, global health leader and author of Salt in the Snow, for a conversation on health, care, identity and community.

Together, we’ll explore how our histories shape care, what it means to provide care across differences, and how we can stay human within impersonal systems. The evening will also include a student conversation and book signing.

🌟 A Wonderful Start for Katie Leadership Academy!

We’re off to a great start! Last week, St. Kate’s welcomed the inaugural Katie Leadership Academy (KLA) cohort for an inspiring kickoff day of connection, reflection, learning, and community.

KLA is more than a leadership development program—it’s a nine-month journey rooted in the belief that leadership is a lived and shared practice. Together, this cohort of faculty and staff will explore what it means to lead with integrity, foster inclusive community, serve with purpose, and contribute to a stronger St. Kate’s. 💜

The kickoff featured an incredible group of speakers and facilitators who helped our cohort begin this journey from multiple perspectives:

✨ Dr. Marcheta Evans and Dr. Anupama Pasricha welcomed the cohort and introduced KLA’s vision, community, and shared expectations for the year ahead.

✨ Caroline Cochran, PhD invited participants to explore Grounding Your Leadership in Presence, encouraging the cohort to consider how presence and intentionality shape the way they lead.

✨ Sr. Sharon Howell, CSJ; Margret McCue-Enser, PhD; and Nawojka Lesinski, PhD led a reflective conversation on Catholic Mission & Leading Self, connecting leadership with reflection, mission, and the values that guide their work.

✨ Kabo Yang, PhD challenged participants to think about the 3E Model, Ethics, and Leading without Positional Power—an important reminder that leadership is not defined by a title but by how they show up and influence their communities.

Thank you to all of the dedicated faculty, staff, and guest facilitators who helped make the kickoff such a meaningful beginning—and, most importantly, thank you to our KLA cohort for bringing your curiosity, experience, energy, and commitment to the table.

We’re excited for all that this year will bring as this group learns, grows, reflects, and leads together. 💜
