💐Middle School Student Showcase💐
During the annual Student Showcase, Middle School artists bring their talent and creativity to the stage in a unique, student-driven way. From one-act plays and a short film to dance and vocal performances, these Middle Schoolers do it all during one special performance.
Congratulations to this year's performers and Mr. Williams on another great show(case)!

Palombob: A Middle School Robotics Sensation!
✈️ After a year of breaking multiple school records at home, our Middle School Robotics team — affectionately named Palombob after one of their coaches, Mr. Palombo — traveled to the Western Edge Open in Long Beach, CA for a four-day competition.
They worked hard and earned a third-place award in the On-the-Spot category. Perhaps most importantly, though, they had fun, partnered with and learned from new friends from across the world, and celebrated a job well done. Congratulations, Palombob! 🏆

💡From SPA to ISEF and beyond! 💡
In May, Evan Morris '26 presented his project in cellular and molecular biology at ISEF, the world's largest and most prestigious youth science competition. His project, SILENCE, is "the first low-cost sonogenetic platform to rapidly optimize neuromodulatory therapies in vivo." In Evan's words? He's trying to identify and access the ideal simulation settings faster in an effort to help patients with epilepsy or other disorders faster.
🔬 Evan won first place in his category along with the Mary Sue Coleman Award for Life Science Innovation and Impact. But Evan's research isn't just an academic or professional pursuit — it's personal. He got interested in neurodegenerative diseases after observing people in his personal life struggling. He said that his goal is to "center the brain in what I do and find practical applications for applying our understanding of neuroscience."
The excitement doesn't stop there. Evan will travel to Washington D.C. this month to present at the National STEM Festival (one of just 55 people from across the country, and the only Minnesotan to boot). He also won the Dudley R. Herschbach SIYSS award, which is an all-expenses-paid trip to the Nobel Conference in Sweden. You can learn more about Evan's project here: https://www.societyforscience.org/blog/regeneron-isef-2026-grand-awards/
Congratulations, Evan! We can't wait to see what you accomplish.

🥇Medals on medals!
Elizabeth T. ‘26 ended her high school career with spectacular performances in both the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdle races. Elizabeth won the 100 meter hurdles in a new Class A Record/School Record/Personal Record/ #1 time in Minnesota in 2026 of 13.89.
She followed that performance to win the 300 meter hurdles with another new Class A Record/School Record/Personal Record/ #1 time in Minnesota in 2026 with a 42.06 performance. That’s some serious Spartan strength. 💙💛
Elizabeth ends her high school career with 5 individual state championships and many school records. Congratulations, Elizabeth!

☀️Summer's almost here, and there's still time to register for private music lessons!
🎻Private summer lessons are available to all SPA students in a wide variety of instruments and at a time that works for your student and your family. Private music teachers are local Twin Cities musicians who are also skilled in musical education; many have taught in SPA's private lesson program for years.
💻 Follow the Private Music Lessons link in the Veracross Parent Portal and mention summer lessons in the note section.

✨PRs and positive vibes from our Middle School track superstars ✨
They're smiling in the sunshine — and setting speedy records, too. At the CAA Championship meet, our 5/6 and 7/8 girls teams placed 3rd (out of 14 and 13 teams, respectively). Congrats to our 4x400 meter relay champs!
