The legendary photographer and personal photo hero Paul Caponigro died on November 10th. It is a sad loss for the photo world but a life well lived. Paul was an icon, an accomplished pianist, a flirt and a friend to aspiring photographers. Several times he was gracious enough to have my Maine Media workshop students to his home in rural Maine and even took us into his personal darkroom to show us classic negatives (all while waving a cigarette around with long ashes seemingly about to destroy a classic one-of-a-kind negative!). The image here is of an Artist Spotlight feature I wrote about him in SHOTS Magazine Issue #151. He will be missed by many.
