Minnesota agencies and local governments identified $6.8 billion in capital needs for the 2026 session. The Governor's proposal sits at $0.9 billion. The bonding bill itself remains an open question.

Deferred infrastructure investment compounds. Roads, bridges, water systems, and public buildings get more expensive to repair the longer we wait, and they continue to degrade in the meantime. These last weeks of the 2026 session will determine whether Minnesota closes that gap or widens it.
