Congratulations to the Mac-P Pre-K class of 2025 - 26❣️ The end of the year is happy/sad. We are sad to leave our friends, teachers and the classroom, but, we are happy to look forward to a new adventure. We ask that they all carry on with kindness, patience, empathy, creativity and humor. And to always look for the “invisible” kids who might need a friend to help them through. We love our Mac-P families so much and will miss you all! Once a Mac-P Family, ALWAYS a Mac-P family!🧡

Thank you to all the past and present families who came to celebrate our 60th Anniversary at Mac-P! Without you, we wouldn’t be the fantastic gem in the neighborhood. Thank you for helping us get there❣️

This week in Room Zoo we were losing our marbles!! No really, they were rolling all over the classroom because it was marble week. We played with Marble Runs, marble mazes and played just plain marbles. We watched a video about how marbles are made. The fancy ones have to be made by hand. Some of them have up to six layers of glass! We also watched a cool video called “Marble Machine” which is a machine that makes music using marbles (see in comments) and cheered on our marble picks in Marble Races!
Next we did marble art. It was really fun. Every creation was different. Then we all got to pick a shooter (that is the big marble used in the actual marble game), 1 peewee and 8 marbles to play the game with. We took them home and will be teaching our family how to play marbles. Ms. Pemly says she will probably be finding marbles in the classroom until next year….oh well, we had fun losing them❣️

Happy Earth week! This week in Room Zoo we talked about things we can do to help the planet. We talked about the 3 “R”‘s - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and we talked about honeybees and how important they are, as pollinators, to the planet. Did you know, when bees return to the hive from harvesting nectar and pollen, that they do a “waggle” dance to let the next set of bees know where the best flowers are?!
Earth is a home to many and, if we don’t take care of it, we may not have many of the things we love!
We also made a special “Give Bees a Chance” project, buzzed around to “Flight of the Bumblebees” and tried on Ms. Pemly’s beehive costume (thanks to a former parent❣️). Don’t forget to do your part on 4/22 - Earth Day, to help make Mother Earth a cleaner planet! It benefits SO many!
There is always an adventure waiting to happen in Room Zoo❣️Bee seeing you…Buzz buzz! 🐝

Another student ventured to Austria over Spring Break and went to the Belvedere Museum. He got to see works from 3 of the 4 artists we studied: Monet, Van Gogh and Gustav Klimt! He even got to see Klimt’s (who is from Austria) famous work, “The Kiss”!
