The fight against โforever chemicalsโ ๐ Prof. Roger Ruan is tackling some of the most persistent threats to our environment: PFAS and microplastics. For more than four decades, his work finds practical, science-based ways to close the loop between production, processing and waste management.
"Science and engineering give us the tools; compassion and responsibility give us the direction," said Ruan.
That's the driving force behind Prof. Roger Ruan's innovative work in Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering, at the University of Minnesota.
"CFANS' mission to feed the world while caring for the planet requires both scientific understanding and engineering ingenuity. My work provides the engineering solutions that make sustainability tangible."
