TCOG's Party in Pink was held on one of the warmest days this summer. Still, 104 opera enthusiasts attended to be entertained by Emily Cottam, mezzo soprano, and David Nelson, baritone, accompanied by Carson Rose Schneider, pianist, as they sang an enjoyable selection of opera and musical theater songs. Here are some pictures taken during the show.

TCOG provided Minnesota Opera with a grant to present “three Student Dress Rehearsals during the 2025–2026 season at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul.
The Student Dress Rehearsal program served Minnesota students in grades 6–12, generally ranging in age from approximately 11 to 18 years old…
Over 900 students attended the three Student Dress Rehearsals during the grant period...
By underwriting Dress Rehearsal costs, TCOG helped eliminate financial barriers for schools and ensured that students from throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin could experience live opera at no cost to their families or educators.”
Working together to build new audiences.

One of TCOG’s recipients has been using drums in the classroom in mindfulness activities used to introduce “strategies for calming their minds, focusing their attention, and relaxing.”
Singing has been incorporated “creating an atmosphere of
celebration and joy” while it “fostered a strong sense of community.”
The program is designed to “provide students with valuable opportunities to build social connections, practice self-regulation, express creativity, and experience the joy of making
music together.”
