The Twin Cities’ next generation of culinary professionals is hard at work preparing for their new occupations. MTP, Morrissey Hospitality, Saint Paul College, and Unite Here! Local 17(Minnesota’s hospitality union) are collaborating to make the Culinary Arts Training Program the best, most supportive short-term culinary training initiative in the region. Thanks to the generous support of the local labor community, our annual Jean Jones winter clothing drive delivered $2,830 worth of gear to the Saint Paul Public Schools' Project REACH office last week! Additionally, members of Saint Paul Steamfitters-Pipefitters Local 455 pitched in with a coat drive at their union hall. We appreciate their support – and the support of every individual and organizations who supported this year's drive!

Registration is open for the Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation's annual Red Cross blood drive on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The event will run from noon to 6 p.m. at the Saint Paul Labor Center, 353 West 7th St.

What a great crew of union volunteers at United Way Action Day! We're part of today's effort to stuff 60,000 backpacks with school supplies, so that kids in our area go back to class this fall with everything they need to succeed.

Our nonprofit organization is a proud, longstanding partner of Greater Twin Cities United Way, providing resources and referrals to union members during times of financial uncertainty.
