Today, 11 Nissan (April 9th) marks the 123rd birthday of the Rebbe - Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory.

The Rebbe’s long-term influence and involvement in U.S. policies was primarily to serve the interests of education. He constantly addressed presidents, lawmakers and cabinet members about their obligation to educate children to be ethical and just citizens.

President Jimmy Carter designated April 18, 1978, the secular date on which the Rebbe’s Jewish birthday, the 11th of Nissan, fell that year, as “Education Day U.S.A.” Every year since, the sitting president and Congress has designated the anniversary of the Rebbe’s birth as a day dedicated to educational awareness - Education and Sharing Day, USA.

Here in Minnesota, Governor Tim Walz issued a proclamation in recognition of the day.

To the Rebbe, education is the Cornerstone of Humanity. In his remarks on Carter's Educational Program the Rebbe said:

"Education, in general, should not be limited to the acquisition of knowledge and preparation for a career, or, in common parlance, “to make a better living.” And we must think in terms of a ‘”better living” not only for the individual, but also for the society as a whole. The educational system must, therefore, pay more attention, indeed the main attention, to the building of character, with emphasis on moral and ethical values."

RADICAL RABBI TAKES - TAKE #10

Good morning friends,

This is a periodic public service reminder:

Never once in the 3336 years of our National history has trying to change, modify, hide, conceal, mask, disguise, or otherwise repackage who we truly are and what we truly believe so that our haters should "accept" us, ever worked.

Nor will it ever work.

So Keep Calm and Am Yisroel Chai on.

On the first night of Shavuot, Jews throughout the world observe the centuries-old custom of conducting an all-night vigil dedicated to Torah learning and preparation for receiving the Torah anew for the 3,337th time the next morning.

We once again present "Shavuot Ten Talks - Jewish Ideas Worth Sharing"!

Instead of one, two or three long lectures, we'll have a series of ten short "Ted Talks" given by some of the most brilliant, talented and supremely interesting members of our community.

Ten Presenters. Ten Minutes. Ten Commandments. Ten O'clock.
Refreshments and L'chaims will be served.

10 PM, Tuesday Night, June 11th @ Chabad.

Today, 11 Nissan (April 19th) marks the 122nd birthday of the Rebbe - Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory.

Soldiers of Light 12/06/2023

As soldiers of light do not, we do not protest the darkness. We illuminate. We don't dialogue with hate and evil. We just unleash an unrelenting positive force of Jewish power, by connecting to and proudly expressing our Jewishness.

The rabbi who warned Israel about future dangers Despite Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson's warnings falling on deaf ears throughout the years, he never stopped pointing out Israel's mistakes may cost it in due time
