This course explores today’s most pressing issues in health communication, from interpersonal conversations about health and illness to global health challenges, organizational messaging, and the role of media, technology, and eHealth. With special attention to culture, students will analyze real-world health communication campaigns and learn how messages shape health behaviors, access, and outcomes.
If you’re interested in how communication impacts health at every level—from one-on-one interactions to worldwide initiatives—this class is for you.

From Caitlin Clark to LeBron James, this course dives into how gender shapes the way sports are played, talked about, and experienced—from the locker room to the stands. Using communication theory, real-world examples, and critical reflection, students will explore how gender norms are both challenged and reinforced in sport media and culture.
Whether you’re an athlete, a fan, or a critical consumer of sport, this class will help you rethink what you watch, cheer for, and participate in.
