Ugh, I’m very grateful for a painful redirect from the Universe this morning.

After breakfast I somewhat rushed out to go write, then take a class, then meet a friend. I’d be gone for 3–4 hours at least. I had barely started walking in my summer flip-flops to the nearby café when something venomous stung my foot. Ouch!! I literally screamed out loud. It really hurt!!

Likely a wasp, because I could not see a stinger, but the sting site turned red fast and furious. It was simply way too painful to keep walking, and I happened to have a sting spray I made in herbal class at my house, so I decided it was too painful to keep going and turned around.

When I entered back into my house, I was met by a nauseating wave of gas odor that I had not noticed before I left; and sure enough, I had left one of the gas burners on with no flame. Not only that, I had closed all the windows because it got so cold last night. So there were my two sweet kitties, stuck in a gas chamber of their mama’s making. I threw open every window and door and rushed them outside.

That painful sting was clearly the grace of God at work. Sometimes what feels like a total inconvenience is actually protection, a redirection. Sometimes the detour saves us from something we never even knew was coming.

I can’t even tell you how timely that reminder is for the broader context of my life right now. For now, I will do my best to slow down and listen so God doesn’t have to get the wasp team (or worse) involved in my Divine guidance.

If you let them, your emotional triggers will guide you into the darkest cave where a little wounded you sits alone, contracted, scared, unable to feel loved, safe, or like you belong.

If you silence that voice, numb that contracted pain, or turn away from it, you abandon yourself yet again.

Please don't. Instead, go gently IN…with soft feet. With an open heart.

Carefully pick up the pained, contracted, stuck-in-time child within you and hold her close to your heart…lay your hands where she is hurting most and radiate loving presence into the dense, contracted knot of pain…pray for more Light, more Love to help you hold her.

Then you will see something begin to soften. The tight energy gradually relaxes.

There may be tears, trembling, maybe even laughter.

There may be disbelief that love is really, truly here now. With you. I've got you. I see you. I feel you. I am here.

And if you keep loving instead of leaving, your innermost contractions slowly begin to trust that your loving presence is here to stay. Then the frozen, contracted energy melts and slowly begins to flow again, like ice melting in the sunshine.

Your body softens. Your heart opens. Peace enters places you once believed would remain dark forever.

You are that love. You are that Light. We all are.

Genuine Loving Presence brings healing. Genuine loving presence softens dense, contracted darkness. You are that Loving Presence deep in your heart.

It may take time for the wounded parts of you to trust your promise of presence. But now you are on your way.

From here, life begins to move toward healing instead of deeper suffering. Breath by breath. Loving moment by loving moment. Gentle touch by gentle touch.

You are on your way to emotional freedom and true love as who you really are and always were. Forever and ever more.

Join my Heal What Hurts Group. We do these love practices together. We melt triggered energy together. We set ourselves free. We heal from the inside out. Together.

Heal What Hurts | Somatic Healing for Emotional Triggers | Maria Toso — Maria Toso 05/22/2026

Since 2018, I have been teaching Heal What Hurts, a practice for those who are ready to take responsibility for their emotional triggers and heal them where they truly live: as contracted energy in the body.

For some, the strategy is lashing out.
For others, numbing out.
Or checking out completely.

In this work, we practice what I wish we had all been taught as children: how to go IN instead of all the OUTS.

Slowly but surely, we become more grounded in loving presence within ourselves and less dependent on what others do or do not do. As we heal the contracted energy held in the body, we naturally grow closer to Source Energy, to the Divine, to God.

We begin to feel more peaceful. More creative. More aligned with how we truly want to live, contribute, love, and move through the human experience.

But healing is not a one-time breakthrough. It is an ongoing process of clearing and softening, relaxing and surrendering, opening to the deeper intelligence within.

Over time, the tight controlling ego mind begins to step back, and something softer begins to lead. A deeper wisdom. A quieter knowing. A more flowing, intuitive Higher Self.

Instead of forcing, we begin allowing.
Instead of grasping, we begin listening.

Go.
Don’t go.
Rest.
Take action.

The guidance comes less from the anxious intellect and more from the eternal light within.

If this speaks to you, keep reading.

Because this work is not only about learning concepts, but about living the practices as a way of being, I am opening a Tuesday Night Heal What Hurts Practice Group.

This will be a small ongoing group with a maximum of 8 people so that genuine connection and safety can develop over time. Once the group fills, I will open another.

Together, we will practice seeing life as a mirror and emotional triggers as opportunities to bring more loving presence into the body and energy field.

Your monthly membership includes:

• Four live Tuesday night Zoom practice groups
• One monthly Embodiment Workshop for deeper somatic work, breathwork, visualization, and nervous system release
• Access to the Heal What Hurts Meditation Library for continued practice between meetings

If you feel called to go a little deeper into this work, send me a message and we can have a conversation about whether this is the right time for you.

I also highly recommend my book, Heal What Hurts, as a companion to the practice.

All meetings are held online via Zoom.

Heal What Hurts | Somatic Healing for Emotional Triggers | Maria Toso — Maria Toso Heal What Hurts is Maria Toso’s somatic-spiritual method for healing emotional triggers through breathwork, embodiment, nervous system awareness, meditation, and loving presence.
