On Monday, IFO reps, teachers, workers, and community members carried the spirit of Labor day forward, coming together to honor those who will be missing from classrooms and school communities this year: parents and children detained, deported, separated from their families, and students who still fear returning to school.
Neighbors continue to step up, and we need corporations like Target to match our energy and speak out in a time when staying silent is being complicit. A company that prides itself on being a good neighbor, one that depends on Minnesota workers, families and communities needs to act like a good neighbor and stand with us when our rights, safety, and democracy are under threat.
We showed up for Target in 2020. Neighbors and local communities came together to help the company rebuild after George Floyd. Now we ask Target to stand with us and sign the Business for Democracy Pledge.
We have asked many times and Target continues to say no to signing the pledge. Now is the time we need to show up as community to remind them that WE stood with them and helped them rebuild after George Floyd and now they need to stand with us.
Step up with us and demand Target speak out.
