Activities such as Fall Fest, leadership workshops and student organizations get students involved in the university and develop their leadership skills. For more information on clubs and organizations, check us out on OrgSync - https://orgsync.com/43185/chapter . If you don't find one that fits your interests, call the Student Life and Leadership Development Office for information on starting a new student group. In addition to leadership development and other involvement opportunities, the office provides services that assist students in their daily lives. Metro Transit, housing information and discount tickets "to the town" are available.

SLLD will be hosting the Fall Leadership Stay Day Retreat on October 24th, 2026 from 9:30AM-3:00PM. It will take place on the St. Paul Campus in the Student Center Complex. This in-person retreat brings students together to explore and build their leadership skills. Grounded in our superhero theme "Navigating with Invisible Strengths," we recognize that true leadership doesn't always wear a cape. It is often powered by unseen qualities such as resilience, empathy, cultural awareness, and personal lived experiences, and quiet determination. Join us to learn about your hidden superpowers!

We highly encourage students to come dressed up in their favorite superhero costume.

Welcome aboard! We are so excited to welcome our wonderful new coordinator to the SLLD family! 🩵🩷💙

Hello Metro State Students! My name is MaiMoua Vang and I am serving as the Student Engagement Coordinator in the Student Life and Leadership Development Department. I also teach METR 103: Academic Skills for Success. I currently serve as the advisor for the Hmong Student Organization along with the Asian Student Organization at Metro State University. I believe college should be a place where students have the opportunity to learn, lead, and find plenty of reasons to laugh. My goal is to create opportunities for student to make the most of their college experience. I spend my leisure time taking my 18-month-old daughter to the library and hiking at the MN State parks. My favorite board games are Catan Settlers, Sequence, and Unstable Unicorns. I look forward to connecting with you.
