It is with great sadness that we report the passing of longtime Central Lutheran teacher Eugene Heuton. While we grieve our loss, we can rejoice in his lived example of steadfast faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ, and the joy and love he brought to our school community.
His obituary and funeral arrangement information can be found here: https://www.muellerbies.com/geneheuton
Our love and prayers go out to his family.

It gives us great joy to share that these hallways will not be empty and bare next year. The sale of the building was completed earlier today and The Journey School will be opening in fall of 2019 in this building.
When the theme verse for the 2017-2018 school year was chosen, God truly was speaking through this verse from Isaiah 43:19. "See I am doing a new thing!" It has been hard to say good-bye to the Central Lutheran School that many of us have loved for so long. But God did a new thing as he spread out his children who had grown to love him to pass that love on to others. And God continues to do a new thing as he allows Christian education to continue in this place.
We were blessed by many, many faithful staff who poured their love for children and Jesus into their work. We were blessed by association churches who saw God calling them to provide Christian education for over 100 years in the St Paul area. We were blessed by families who trusted the school and administration and desired to have their children grow in faith and knowledge. We were blessed by volunteers committed to providing so many things to make our school better for our community. We also have been blessed by faithful school board members who have served -and it is with gratitude that we thank the current CLS board who has worked through a painful process to see ministry be replanted and begin to grow here again.

To our beloved students, families and friends of CLS,
Last night the Board voted unanimously to suspend all academic operations at Central Lutheran School. We will not open for school this fall.
The last options of other investors, mentioned earlier this week, were not able to submit signed purchase agreements by yesterday’s deadline.
This sudden turn of events, when everything was looking so optimistic, leaves us all sad, shaken, angry, and maybe even questioning God’s will. This is normal. It will take time for this to soak in and it will take more time as we go on to see the good our Heavenly Father has planned for each of us.
The theme verse for this year would have been: Isaiah 41:10 New International Version (NIV)
10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
As we go into the future, perhaps this could be the theme for each of us. We will move forward in God’s presence and strength while sheltered in His hand.
Watch the Cougar Prints and Facebook for news of a farewell gathering. We will also be sending information about other schools and requesting records. Please let us know about any other ways we can help you.
As always, it is an honor to serve you.
All my love, Elizabeth M Wegner

Dear CLS Families and Friends,
The sale of CLS to Twin Cities German Immersion School has fallen through. You may have seen this in the news or on social media. This was our best chance of opening in September.
Yesterday afternoon a similar opportunity presented itself via a friend of CLS. This is our last option. This new party has until Friday, August 3, to present a proposal to our Board.
Based on this information, the Board will make a decision about suspending all academic operations or moving forward by midnight on August 3. The timing will allow for a response from Board members who will be in different time zones. Notification of their decision will go out on August 4.
Plans are already in place for opening or suspending.
Thank you for your faithfulness, prayers, and patience during this time. Thank you to all who have worked so hard on budgets, negotiations, and property showings. Thank you to faculty and staff who have remained faithful to their posts.
Please keep all of this in prayer, trusting in our Heavenly Father's care and plans for each of us. Even though we are not all together and some of us have not seen each other for many days, we can all rest under the loving gaze of Him who sees all of us and holds us in His grip.
In His service and yours, Mrs. Wegner
