Please join us this Tuesday, November 11, from 5-6:30 PM in Humanities 226 for a film screening of “The Memory of Butterflies.” The documentary explores the story of two indigenous Peruvian boys who were forcibly taken to Europe. All are welcome to attend!

This Thursday from 5-6 PM, come join us in Humanities 115 in honor of the annual Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead).

During this traditional Latin American holiday, we come together to celebrate and honor loved ones who have passed. Everyone is welcome!

All are invited to the WGSS Panel on Reproductive Rights in Latin America on Thursday, March 9, 11:30-1. The presenters are Barbara Sutton and Nayla Luz Vacarezza and the title of their presentation is "Abortion, Democracy, and the 'Green Tide'". This will be a zoom presentation for a live audience with a Q&A in the Harmon Room. Lunch will be provided by Afro Deli.

Based on their work as co-editors of Abortion and Democracy: Contentious Body Politics in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay, Dr. Sutton and Dr. Vacarezza will share key insights learned from abortion rights struggles in Latin America's Southern Cone. They will explore how abortion rights demands fit with current democratic agendas and engage in conversation with the audience about abortion politics in transnational perspective.

This event is co-sponsored by WGSS, Environmental Studies, Political Science, Physics and Astronomy, English, Linguistics, Spanish and Portuguese, Sociology, and Institutional Equity.
