Add in Smokey the hound 🐶, river views, active student life, and a strong value for out-of-state students, and it's easy to see why UTK is a top pick!

Having not traveled to Knoxville, TN in many years, I had no idea how this city and its crowning jewel, The University of Tennessee, has grown. UTK, as it's commonly referred to, has become increasingly popular. And I can tell you, it’s warranted affection.

The University of Kentucky stands out for its strong programs in business, health sciences, engineering, education, and equine science—all with plenty of Southern charm and school spirit. 💙🐾With major campus upgrades, Exploratory Studies for undecided freshmen, and two hospitals offering hands-on experience, UK offers a lot to love. It has a high acceptance rate, and while most students are from Kentucky, it’s still very accessible for out-of-state students.

UK has a high admit rate, though 65% of students do hail from Kentucky, making out-of-state a touch more competitive, but still accessible. For a student looking for access to a variety of programs, a warm climate (both weather and social), a very strong school spirit, and one located in a city, UK....

Jay Benanav was a regular dad with 3 boys when he got his first introduction to the complexity of the college process with his oldest, Jesse, when they missed out on over $10,000 for simply not filling out a form. After going through the process 2 more times, he couldn't believe the incredible amount of details to manage and how hard it was to find information (including how much the education they were investing in was actually going to cost). After countless more mistakes and unanswered questions, he became so fed up with the process that he quit his law practice and started a business to help other families save time, reduce stress and successfully navigate the college process. Since then, College Inside Track has educated thousands through its seminars and worked intimately with hundreds of families to help them get into some of the best universities in the world and save lots of money in the process.
