MYS audition season is officially underway!

Our main audition dates are coming up on June 12–13, and we can't wait to hear hundreds of young musicians show their skills. Hope to see you there! 🎻✨

What started as a joke for trombonist James—and a leap of faith for horn player Finn—led these Cambridge-Isanti seniors all the way to MYS Symphony Orchestra and bright futures in music performance.

As James puts it, “Being in a car for at least two hours every day is definitely going to do something to a friendship!” 🚗

Last Sunday the Minnesota Youth Symphonies wrapped another amazing season! 🎶🎻

Today's in our season’s grand finale, all five MYS orchestras will take the stage at Orchestra Hall. Come early to enjoy pre-concert lobby music from 1:00–1:30 PM by our chamber ensembles.

Tove's musical journey began long before she ever picked up an instrument. For years, she aspired to play in MYS like her mom had, and she finally joined in 2022 as a freshman—she even proudly wears her mom’s old MYS sweatshirt from time to time.

Now a senior and this month's Student Spotlight, Tove shares how her mom (who is also her viola teacher) taught her to focus on expression by playing "like a diva!" to make the audience feel something.
