Did you know that dyslexic brains process language differently — and often more creatively? ✨
Instead of relying on the typical left-side language pathway, people with dyslexia use more right-hemisphere and frontal brain regions. That means they often think in big-picture, visual, and intuitive ways, even if decoding words is tougher.
Different doesn’t mean less — it means powerfully unique. 💛📚

🔠✨ What is Foundation in Sounds?
Foundation in Sounds is a pre-reading program designed to strengthen the essential skills students need before starting a structured reading program like Barton. 💪
Through fun, multisensory activities, students learn to:
👂 Hear and identify individual sounds in words
💭 Strengthen memory and attention skills
🎯 Build listening accuracy and sound awareness
These skills create the foundation for confident, successful reading — especially for students with dyslexia or other reading challenges. 💙
📚 At Learn to Learn, we use Foundation in Sounds to help students start strong and feel confident as they move toward reading success.

Watching a child rediscover confidence is one of the greatest joys of the work we do. 💛
This family’s journey is a reminder that with the right support, early struggles don’t define a child’s future. Dyslexia doesn’t have to hold students back—structured, research-based instruction can open doors they never thought possible. ✨
Proud of this brave student and thrilled to be part of his growth! 📚💪

🧠✨ The Orton-Gillingham approach is built on 7 key components that make reading and spelling instruction effective — especially for students with dyslexia.
Each component plays a vital role in helping students truly understand how language works — not just memorize it. When all seven are woven together, students build strong reading foundations, lasting confidence, and a love for learning. 💙
At Learn to Learn, we use the Orton-Gillingham approach (through programs like Barton) to make sure every student gets the individualized, structured, and multisensory instruction they deserve.

🌍 Did you know that about 7% of elementary school–aged students worldwide have dyslexia? That’s roughly one in fourteen children — bright, capable, and full of potential, yet often misunderstood. 💙
Dyslexia does not discriminate — it affects students across all languages, cultures, and intelligence levels. While there’s no cure, there is the right kind of support. With structured, multi-sensory instruction, students with dyslexia can learn to read and write with confidence, building not only academic skills but a deeper sense of self-belief and resilience. ✨
Every child deserves the chance to thrive — to see that their unique way of learning is a strength, not a setback. 🌟

At Learn to Learn, we believe that confidence is the foundation of all learning. Every student deserves to feel confident — not just in the classroom, but in who they are. 💙
When students feel capable, they’re willing to take risks, ask questions, and keep trying — even when things feel hard.
Our tutors focus on more than academics. We teach students how to learn, giving them the tools and strategies to grow in every area of life — in school, friendships, and beyond.
Because when a child believes in their ability to learn, anything is possible. The confidence they gain here doesn’t stop with schoolwork — it carries into every part of their lives. 🌟

1. Dyslexia is a language-processing difference, not a vision problem. Dyslexia is a neurological difference in the phonological processing system—the part of the brain that connects letters (visual symbols) to sounds. Because these connections are slower or less automatic, letters or numbers might appear to get mixed up, skipped, or reordered when reading or writing.
2. Dyslexic and non dyslexic students share common “reversal” letters and numbers. Some students might confuse letters like b/d, p/q, or numbers like 6/9, especially when they are first learning to read. These reversals happen temporarily in many early readers, not just dyslexic students, but they can persist longer in dyslexia because of processing differences.
3. Dyslexia is about how the brain processes written language, not about “seeing things backwards.” With structured, multi-sensory instruction like the Barton Reading & Spelling System, these difficulties can be overcome, and reading becomes automatic and confident.

The Barton Reading & Spelling System is more than just tutoring — it’s a research-based, multisensory approach that helps students truly understand how reading and spelling work.
For many children, Barton is the key that unlocks confidence. ✨
As skills improve, so does self-esteem — because when students see their own progress, they start to believe in themselves. 💪📚
