🚗❤️ CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY WEEK | SEPTEMBER 20–26 ❤️🚗

September is Child Passenger Safety Month, and September 20–26 is Child Passenger Safety Week!

At Roaring Hearts Training & Testing Center, our mission is bigger than CPR. We’re committed to EMPOWERING SAFETY. ENSURING TRUST. — and that includes making sure our smallest passengers are riding safely. 👶🏽👧🏾🧒🏼🚙

📍 GEORGIA PARENTS & CAREGIVERS — DID YOU KNOW?

Under Georgia law (O.C.G.A. § 40-8-76), children under age 8 are generally required to be properly restrained in an appropriate child passenger safety seat or booster seat.

Important information from Georgia’s Child Passenger Safety Law:

• Children under 8 who are over 4’9” (57 inches) are exempt from the child-restraint requirement.
• A medical exemption may apply when a parent or guardian has a written statement from a physician explaining that a physical or medical condition prevents the child from being restrained as required.
• A child under 8 who weighs at least 40 pounds is NOT automatically exempt from the law. Limited circumstances may allow use of a lap belt when lap-and-shoulder belts are unavailable or already being used to restrain other children.
• Violations may result in a fine of up to $50 for a first conviction and up to $100 for subsequent convictions, along with driver’s-license points.

But remember: meeting the minimum requirement of the law doesn’t always mean your child is riding in the safest way possible. ❤️

As a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), Roaring Hearts can help families understand proper car-seat selection, installation, harness positioning, booster-seat readiness, and when it’s appropriate for a child to transition to the vehicle seat belt.
