Welcome our Photographers Ryan and Sara!
Ryan Holmen is a livestock photographer from Lanesboro, Minnesota. He holds an Associate of Science degree from Black Hawk East and a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University. He is currently working for Bluff Country Ag and Horihan Insurance in Rushford, Minnesota. Ryan grew up showing cattle, then transitioned to showing pigs at all levels. With extensive experience photographing livestock shows throughout the Midwest during college, Ryan has developed a strong reputation for capturing high-quality images of pigs, cattle, sheep, and goats. Ryan is committed to showcasing the excellence of livestock and making memories that last a lifetime.
Sara is originally from Rush City, Minnesota, where she grew up exhibiting Red Angus cattle and pigs at the local, state, and national levels. Growing up in the livestock industry sparked not only her love for showing cattle and swine, but also a passion for capturing the moments that make the industry so meaningful. Her interest in livestock photography began in high school when she picked up a camera for the first time and she hasn’t put it down since.
Today, Sara owns and operates Shots by Sara and works part-time with Legacy Livestock Imaging, combining her livestock background with a passion for telling stories through the lens. She especially enjoys capturing the hard work, dedication, and memorable moments shared between exhibitors and their livestock. As she transitions out of the junior show circuit, Sara is excited to pursue more opportunities photographing livestock shows across the country.
After graduating from South Dakota State University, Sara now resides in Sioux Falls, SD, where she works as a Sales Representative for Sioux Nation Ag.
