Today we celebrated a very special birthday at Lilypad! The children enjoyed a fun morning outside with a cool treat, choosing between Bluey and Spider-Man popsicles. 🍧🕷️🐾
After some sunshine and smiles, we headed inside to relax and enjoy a showing of Tangled together. 🎬👑✨
Honestly, there’s no better way to celebrate a birthday than surrounded by laughter, hugs, and the amazing little people who make every day so special. Thank you to all of our Lilypad families for allowing me to be a part of your children's lives—it truly is the greatest gift. ❤️

💦☀️ First Water Day of the Summer! ☀️💦
What a splash-tastic way to kick off summer at Lilypad! Today the children enjoyed not one, not two, but THREE sensory water tables filled with opportunities to explore, pour, scoop, splash, and create. We also cooled off with the sprinkler, which was a huge hit on this warm day!
Water play is more than just fun—it helps children develop fine motor skills, practice problem-solving, explore early science concepts, and build social skills as they play and learn together.
There were lots of smiles, laughter, and happy memories made as we welcomed the summer season. We can't wait for many more Water Wednesdays ahead! 🌞💧🩱

🧪✨ Fizzy Fun with STEAM! ✨🧪
Today we explored science through a hands-on STEAM experiment! The children used eye droppers to strengthen their fine motor skills as they carefully sucked up colorful vinegar and squeezed it onto baking soda. The result? A fizzy, bubbly surprise that had everyone smiling! 🌈💥
Not only was this activity exciting, but it also encouraged scientific exploration, cause-and-effect learning, color observation, and hand-eye coordination. The children loved making predictions and watching the magical reactions happen right before their eyes.
Learning through play is one of our favorite ways to explore the world, and this experiment was a huge hit! 🔬❤️

🌞🛝 Park Day Adventures at Lilypad! 🌱✨
Today we packed up our smiles and headed to the park for a morning full of fun, laughter, and exploration! From climbing and sliding to running, swinging, and making memories with friends, the children had a wonderful time enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
Outdoor play is so much more than just fun—it helps children build large motor skills, strengthen coordination and balance, practice social skills, develop confidence, and learn about the world around them through hands-on exploration. 🌳💚
Watching our little learners encourage one another, take safe risks, and celebrate their accomplishments is one of our favorite parts of park days!

Today we tested out our Water Wednesday tables to beat the heat, and let’s just say… summer fun is officially loading at Lilypad! ☀️🌊
The children explored a variety of water tools while practicing fine motor skills, scooping, pouring, squeezing, and splashing their way through the day. Water play is more than just fun — it helps strengthen hand muscles, encourages sensory exploration, builds problem-solving skills, and sparks imaginative play! 🫧🩵
There were smiles, giggles, and plenty of splashes as our little learners cooled off and explored together. We can already tell this is going to be a favorite summer activity! 🌱✨

🚂🔢 All aboard the counting train at Lilypad! Today Ms. Sam turned learning into a hands-on teamwork adventure by creating a number train with carts labeled 1–12. The children worked together to count out the correct number of Magna-Tiles for each cart’s “cargo load” before sending it down the tracks! 🚃✨
This activity was packed with early learning fun while building important math foundations like number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, counting skills, problem-solving, and teamwork. Number games in early childhood education help children develop confidence with math concepts through play, making learning meaningful, interactive, and exciting! 💡🧠

As we wrap up our workbooks for the year, we can’t help but look back at just how much our Lilypad learners have grown! ✏️💚
From strengthening our pincer grasp and fine motor skills to learning how to spell our names independently, these little minds have worked SO hard this year. Watching their confidence bloom page by page has been such a rewarding journey! 🌱
We absolutely LOVE using ✨Writing Without Tears✨ here at Lilypad. It makes learning to write fun, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate for little learners. We can’t wait to crack open new books and start the adventure all over again next year!

Today at Lilypad, Ms. Christine came in for dance class and the children had an absolute blast moving their bodies and learning new skills! From practicing balance and coordination to following directions and building confidence, every spin and jump helps little learners grow in BIG ways. 💃🩰
Dance in early childhood is so much more than just fun — it helps strengthen gross motor skills, rhythm, listening skills, body awareness, and self-expression all while getting those wiggles out! And let’s be honest… watching tiny dancers show off their moves is pretty adorable too. 💚🌱

Today at Lilypad the children became the designers of their very own sensory experience! First, they picked out boats for the sensory table, then we headed outside on a scavenger hunt to collect rocks for our shoreline. The best part? Ms. Sam filled the table with water so we could create our own lake… introducing 🌿 Lake Lilypad Lagoon 🌿🚤💦
The children spent the afternoon scooping, splashing, floating boats, and exploring their handmade “lake.” Sensory play like this helps strengthen fine motor skills, teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and early science concepts as children experiment with floating, sinking, and water movement. Plus, outdoor scavenger hunts encourage observation skills, movement, and connection with nature. Learning truly comes to life when children help create the play themselves! ☀️🪨🐸
