Vroom! Beep beep! What was that? 🚗 This Vroom Tip turns any walk into a brain-building sound guessing game. Mimic the sounds of cars, trucks, buses, and motorcycles together — then take turns guessing which vehicle makes which sound. Focus, memory, and a whole lot of fun all in one!

As you walk, listen to the sounds that cars, trucks, motorcycles, and buses make and mimic them. Once you know several sounds, turn it into a guessing game. If you say "Beep, beep!" your child can guess, "Car!" Then it's their turn to make a sound and your turn to guess. Keep the game going by taking turns!

What's the Brainy Background? 🧠 Your child must use their focus and self-control to tune out distractions and pay attention to sounds. As you play the game, they're using their working memory to connect the sounds to different vehicles. You're also helping them understand that sounds can represent real things. 💡

The Children's Center- DCI Parents as Teachers program is offering a free, six-week virtual workshop for families with children ages 0–16.
