oh so much on my mind ...πŸ˜‚

Alas, I must stick to the hot topic of the day, impending doom and storms, oh my.

Families with school age children - Dress for the weather, this means no socks with crocs, you have rain boots then make sure you get your nickel's worth and make the kids wear their rain boots

Umbrellas, sure if your kid can hold it during high winds and not endanger the child next to them in line.

Rain jacket or even better a poncho that will cover them and get them to the center with a lower possibility of them looking like a drenched mouse - perfect, give it a two thumbs up🀣

Less is definitely more on this kind of weather day so all the toys and extras they like to bring with them should sit this day out so the items don't get lost or add to the chaos of getting the kids back from the afternoon bus with dropping them or trying to hold on to something when the focus should be swift and safe and indoors.

The school system historically waits on these kind of decisions without allowing the rest of us, families or after school programs much time to plan around their plan around. I do not foresee them making the call to close schools at all and an early dismissal surely is possible, however, like I said .....historically....

If early dismissal happens then we would bring the children back to the classroom from the buses and if weather situations present that we should go to the basement, then we would do so and that would be where you would go to get your child and sign out.
Plan appropriately about the day so that you can pick up your child and be home, hopefully, not in the severity of a storm.

When a storm occurs during center hours and we lose power, and with the forecast that is a high probability, we will call families and children need to be picked up within a reasonable amount of time. (I don't know if that would happen, but in case this scenario presents itself)

The storm is poised to come later in the day so that is why it makes for difficult - what do we do - kind of decision making. I will post again at like 7 pm after I myself, view the latest update before calling it a night and preparing for the next day.

They have to give us forecasts to be better prepared in the event of a doozy of a storm and I appreciate the heads up so we can be as best prepared as possible, please know if you have any questions, please call me.

Hoping that if we have severe weather, it holds off until the evening, I will call upon "the spirits of the forest" (iykyk) and hope that I am ever in their favor.

We ride at dawn 🀣😎

02/22/2026

There is a high probability of closure for tomorrow, Monday, February 23, 2026. The weather will not end until mid morning tomorrow, roads were unable to treat due to initial rain that came before the snow so that could impede the ability to clear driveway and all walkways depending on the amount of accumulation when it ends.

I will post an update by 7 pm here on this page, will share on my personal fb page, will post on our outgoing center phone message, will hopefully have ability to post on channels 4 and 5.

Thank you

Ms. Tammy
