Twenty-five years ago, our nation changed forever.

This September, the MoWest Center for Service is honored to partner with MoWest Military and Veteran Services, local first responders, and community partners to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 with a week of remembrance, service, and gratitude.

Together, we will honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, remember the incredible courage of the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, military members, and everyday heroes who answered the call, and recognize the thousands of first responders who spent months at Ground Zero helping with rescue, recovery, and cleanup efforts.

Throughout the week, we invite Griffons and members of the community to join us as we remember, reflect, and serve. Every event is free and open to the public, because if there's one thing we learned from this tragic day, we are better together!

As we approach this significant milestone, may we never forget the strength, sacrifice, and unity that emerged from one of our nation's darkest days.

Save the date. Invite your family and friends.
Join us as we remember the past, honor our heroes, and recognize those who continue to step in to action in the face of danger.

A good throwback on a Wednesday never hurt!

While Veterans Day has long since passed, these sweet notes and drawings from the students at Carden Park Elementary School still make us smile in the Center for Military and Veteran Services. We recently came across them again and I wanted to share a few of the heartfelt messages the students created for veterans during their Veterans Day Parade.

Even months later, these cards continue to brighten our office and remind us of the incredible support our military and veteran community receives from the next generation. 🖤 💛

Here are just a few of the messages that made us smile: 👇🏻

📝 Jonas:
"Dear Veteran, Thank you for all the freedom and protecting us and being there in World War 1 and 2."

📝 Michael:
"Thank you for being brave. Thank you for keeping me safe."
