A good throwback on a Wednesday never hurt!
While Veterans Day has long since passed, these sweet notes and drawings from the students at Carden Park Elementary School still make us smile in the Center for Military and Veteran Services. We recently came across them again and I wanted to share a few of the heartfelt messages the students created for veterans during their Veterans Day Parade.
Even months later, these cards continue to brighten our office and remind us of the incredible support our military and veteran community receives from the next generation. ๐ค ๐
Here are just a few of the messages that made us smile: ๐๐ป
๐ Jonas:
"Dear Veteran, Thank you for all the freedom and protecting us and being there in World War 1 and 2."
๐ Michael:
"Thank you for being brave. Thank you for keeping me safe."

This Memorial Day weekend, it was a tremendous honor for Missouri Western Military & Veteran Services to participate in the community wreath ceremony honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. ๐บ๐ธ
We are proud that our Director, Gabbie Falletta, had the opportunity to deliver such a meaningful and heartfelt speech during the ceremony. Her words served as a powerful reminder of the importance of remembering and honoring those who gave everything in service to our nation.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this ceremony so special. We will never forget the sacrifices made by our fallen heroes and their families.

Big changes to Military Federal Tuition Assistance are in effect! ๐ข
Heads up for December 2024 changes too: the Fed TA cap went up to $4,500/18 credit hours per FY, but the CA cap dropped to $2,000. Commissioned Officers (O1โO10) are no longer eligible for CA.
Starting March 2026, command approval is required for all Fed TA/CA requests, and supervisors have a strict 5-day window to act โ or the request gets deleted. Two unsuccessful grades in the same fiscal year means a 12-month suspension.
Know the rules before you apply. Contact the MoWest Center for Military and Veterans Services with any questions!
