Another successful Field Day in the books!

Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who helped make this day so fun and memorable for our students. We appreciate all your hard work.

Our annual “Careers on Wheels” event was held yesterday, providing an engaging, hands-on learning experience for students in grades K–6. Students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of careers by interacting with various vehicles, including trucks, boats, and patrol cars. Professionals shared insights into their daily responsibilities, as well as the skills, education, and training required for their careers.

We are so thankful and appreciative of all of the companies who volunteered their time to spend the day with our students:
St. Joseph Police Department, St. Joseph Fire Department, Buchanan County EMS, St. Joe Mustangs, KQ2, Waste Management, St. Joe Petroleum, Scoop Skool Bus, Missouri Department of Conservation, Altec, and St. Joseph Animal Services.

Our 2nd graders have been learning about Peter and the Wolf during music class! They explored the story, listened to the music, and learned about the different scenes and characters throughout the play.

After practicing, the students performed the play for our kindergarten students. They did a wonderful job bringing the story to life, and we are so proud of all their hard work and creativity!

Huge congratulations to Bishop (4th grade) and Wyatt (5th grade) for earning their BLACK BELT in Recorder Karate in music class! 🥋🎶

To earn their black belt, students must successfully perform “Ode to Joy,” the final and most challenging song in the Recorder Karate program. This achievement takes dedication, perseverance, practice, and strong musicianship, and these two students rose to the challenge!

We are so proud of Bishop and Wyatt for all of their hard work this year. Way to go! 💙💛🎵

Today Central seniors came to Parkway and volunteered for Senior Service Day - they did such an amazing job! They helped clean out the shed, get bikes ready to donate, painted a hop scotch on the playground, touched up the paint on our 4 Square Games, cleaned out and organized the attic, shelved books in the library, put together a desk, painted nails!!! They were amazing and Parkway appreciated all their help!

Happy Nurses Day to someone who has meant so much to our Parkway family, Mrs. Steeby!

Today was extra fun seeing so many “nurses” walking the halls as our staff dressed up in scrubs to celebrate but there’s only one who has truly filled that role for the past 16 years.

She’s been there for our students through everything; helping when they’re sick, calming nerves, and always showing kindness and care. She truly loves our kids, and it shows in the way she shows up every single day.

As she gets ready to retire this year, we just want to say thank you. Parkway won’t be the same without her, but we’re so grateful for all she’s given to our school.

Wishing her all the best in this next chapter…she’s earned it.

Happy Principal’s Day to our fearless leader, Mrs. Amanda Ueligger!! Today our staff surprised her with “Anything But A Thank You” balloon. We like to have fun around here 😊

Amanda spreads light, laughter, and patience throughout our building. We are so thankful to have her steady presence, leading both staff and students along the way.

Plus, she always has on great shoes!👠
