October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and SJCS is honored to join in celebrating and saying a heartfelt THANK YOU!

This month, we’re especially grateful for the pastors who faithfully serve the Lord in our community. We’re lifting them up in prayer, along with their ministries, churches, and families, as they continue to walk in the calling God has placed on their lives. May they feel encouraged by the Lord, strengthened in their faith, and uplifted by the love and support of His people—not just in October, but in every season.

As a special expression of appreciation, SJCS students in grades 2–12 took time to write heartfelt, handwritten notes to their pastors—a simple but meaningful way to share gratitude, encouragement, and love. 💌 We hope these notes are a blessing to all who receive them!

Students visited various stations and talked with adults representing local businesses in the community, offering a wide range of career options. We are praying for our students and the paths God has for each of them ahead!

Faith Promise 2026 was a wonderful evening of celebration and thanksgiving as we reflected on God’s goodness throughout SJCS’s 39-year history. From staff service awards honoring those who have served to student artwork and musical performances, the evening highlighted the many blessings of our school community.

Superintendent Danny Maggart shared the State of the School, celebrating God’s faithfulness over the past year and His work in the lives of our students and staff as we continue our mission of equipping students to impact the world for Christ.

Our keynote speaker, Captain Logan Morrison, a 2015 SJCS graduate, shared how God shaped his faith throughout his years at SJCS—including plenty of memorable, lighthearted antics along the way! One particularly funny highlight? Spending his entire sixth-grade year on “red”! After graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2019, Logan went on to become an Instructor Pilot and Flight Commander in the 319th Special Operations Squadron. His story was a wonderful reminder of how God works in our lives through every season, shaping us for the callings He has ahead. We’re grateful for Logan and all God continues to do in and through him, his wife and fellow SJCS alumna Maddy (McGlade) Morrison, and their two children.
