It has been hot hot HOT outside! The heat wave kept us indoors this week so it was time to get creative. Our kiddos dodged a swinging ball, crawled under "lazers", and then used teamwork to move a balloon across the gym. We topped everything off with a game of "don't let the balloon touch the ground".

Shout out to the Saint Joseph, Missouri Fire Department for showing up for our kids today. Station 5 brought their truck and equipment to give the students a demonstration of what a firefighter does and educate the children on how they can keep themselves safe in case of a fire. Even Simba (the school cat) watched the demonstration with great interest. With helmets and badges of their own, the kids were declared firefighters for the day!

We want to thank Sack's Ice Cream for helping us stay cool last week. Nothing says summer fun like the ice cream truck!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! We are so thankful for teachers everywhere, especially our wonderful staff at ICMS. They are not only teaching lessons each week but helping with emotional regulation and conflict-problem resolution. A Teacher's job is not only to teach... but they love too! Their love for your kids and families is endless. We are thankful to know there are so many outstanding teachers in our community working hard to create a new generation of well-rounded adults.
