LHS JROTC Archers got to experience firing at nationals. The EN(Engineers), MP(Military Police), and CBRN(Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) came out to do demonstrations and talk with the kids. They even met the Cadet Commander CSM, Darrel E. Walls. There were teams from Maine to Hawaii competing at Ft Leonardwood, MO.
Congratulations again to our team!

What a great final sectional meet for Lafayette Track and Field! We had an incredible day! 6 out of 7 entries qualified for state! We started the day with Emery winning the javelin with a throw of 39.31 meters. During that same session Ondrell took second in the long jump with a 5.06 meter jump. In the second session Emery won the shot put with a throw of 12.15 meters. The girls 4x200 of Roz, Taniyah, Ondrell and Emery qualified 4th in a race that featured the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th fastest times of the year. We didnβt run our best time but we survived and advance. This is the first relay we have qualified for state since Iβve been at Lafayette. In the 300 hurdles Ondrell PRβd by over a second and finished a heartbreaking 5th. She had an amazing day but was still disappointed. In the final session of field events. Jatayah had a throw of 36.80 which was good enough for 4th and gets her a trip to state! Jason cleared 1.90 meters in the high jump to qualify for state in 2nd place. What a way to bring our track season to a close! We are taking more kids to state than we have in a long time! Congratulations Irish!!!!!βοΈ
