SJSD Staff and Families,

Congratulations to the Lady Benton Cardinals and the Lafayette Fighting Irish for success on the courts this past weekend and their advancement to the Class 4 State Final Four.

As a result, the St. Joseph School District will be closed on Thursday, March 16, to allow students and staff the opportunity to travel to Springfield, MO to cheer on the two teams.

This decision is based on concerns that we will not be able to provide enough substitutes in our classrooms to take care of students. We have already received feedback from staff and families stating they plan to be absent from school on Thursday.

Thank you,
St. Joseph School District

The St. Joseph School District is joining other schools in the Kansas City area and closing on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, to allow students, staff, and community members the opportunity to participate in the KC Chiefs Super Bowl parade and rally.

This decision is based on concerns that we will not be able to provide enough substitutes in our classrooms to take care of students. We have already received feedback from staff and families stating they plan to be absent from school on Wednesday to either attend the parade in person or watch on television.
This time off counts against the district’s number of built-in weather hours.
