We had a great time at the Missouri National Guard in Jefferson City, MO yesterday! Thank you to each of the presenters who spoke about the various benefits available to our Service Members, updated us on current events and openly listened to feedback from higher education professionals across the state who are always collaborating to improve processes.
Each one of these individuals are passionate about helping our military-connected students get the most out of their education benefits while working toward their career goals. Together, the MO National Guard Education & Incentives team and schools across the state are making a difference!

This morning, students, staff, and community members came together for the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Participants climbed in honor of the lives lost during the attacks and the many heroes who responded that day. Among today's climbers were current military, Veterans, emergency responders, and citizens—united in purpose to honor, remember, and show that we will never forget.
After the climb, we were honored to attend the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony hosted by FOP Northwest Missouri Lodge 3 and the Saint Joseph, Missouri Fire Department. The heartfelt speeches from our city's EMS leaders served as a powerful reminder of how the world was forever changed on that day—and why we must always take the time to reflect, remember, and honor those we lost.
Their words reminded us not only of the tragedy, but of the strength, sacrifice, and unity that followed.
We will always remember. We will always honor.
Ceremony attendees included:
Angie Osborn, MWSU Center for Military and Veterans Services
James Beltz, MWSU Student and U.S. Army Veteran
Leo Newman, MWSU Former Student Government leader and community supporter

On this solemn day, we remember the lives stolen by the attacks of September 11, 2001. Our hearts remain with the families and loved ones who continue to grieve. We also honor the heroes – the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and everyday citizens – who rushed towards danger to save others. May we never forget their sacrifice.
