St. Johnsbury Academy has partnered with the town of St. Johnsbury to launch a month-long project to paint murals on the Jersey barriers under the Portland Street Bridge.

This art initiative will feature seven teams of three students, each painting scenes centered on recreation. Students began the process by painting the barriers grey in preparation for the main art event, which will take place on September 18.

As you can imagine, finding a concert that appeals to a wide range of musical interests can be a challenge. Because Grace Potter is a Vermonter, we landed on the Zac Brown Band wit...

Today is National Dog Day, and here’s a sports fact you probably didn’t know: The first official Olympic mascot was a dachshund named Waldi, who debuted at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games.

Maybe it's time to bring Topper back - where could he be?

Throwback Thursday

Straszko Center at Graham’s House

On Saturday, June 2, 2012, the newly renovated former home of Academy teacher Graham S. Newell was officially dedicated as the Straszko Center at Graham’s House. Alumni, students, and friends can now enjoy this new space on the Academy campus made possible through the generosity of Esther Beck Straszko ’35.

Over the past year, students enrolled in the Academy’s Built Environment, Drafting, and Industrial Electricity classes, along with many others, worked diligently to prepare the energy-efficient home for the new tenants.

The school’s Alumni & Development and Marketing & Communications offices now reside at 85 Fairbanks Drive and invite you to stop by for a visit the next time you are in town!

If you had a class with Graham in his house, let us know your memories - we would love to hear from you.
