Looking a good activity to get your child or children outdoors. Try a nature scavenger hunt or bingo. You can just go on a walk in town or out in the woods. Show different environments, colors, textures (safe ones), or species. There's lots to learn and encourage children to ask questions and don't be afraid to say you don't know the answer and google things. You might learn something new yourself.

Picking up little objects, pinching, drawing, even playing some video games are ways your child uses fine motor skills everyday. Fine motor skills are the coordination of small muscle movements. One of the reasons that fine motor development is so essential in the early childhood years is to aid in the ability of self-help proficiency.
A fun way to practice fine motor skills is to create a stained glass windows! Take a piece of Press-N-Seal and take it to the window with paint tape. Then cut up pieces of tissue paper. Then let them stick them all over. Your child will love creating a beautiful piece of art. This also gives you an opportunity to work on colors or shapes. A great way to enjoy the sunshine and not the mud!

Gross motor skills can be tricky to get in when the weather isn't nice out but with a little creative thinking your child could learn new skills, excercise, build strength and confidence! Gross motor skills is the development from the movement of the large muscle groups (arms, legs, trunk). You can move yourself ( walk, jump, skip, ect) or an object ( throw, kick, push) below is a link to indoor gross motor skill activities. Don't be afraid to do them with your child and get a bonus work out 😉
