This week in band:

Thank you to you and your students for a great concert last week. I am incredibly proud of all that our students achieved this year. More importantly, I’ve been proud of how much they’ve grown. Most importantly, I’m honored to have seen how much they’ve grown as people.

From here on out, weekly emails will serve to try to make sure everyone is prepared for the end of the year. Please note that students should be prepared to play in class this week.

8TH GRADERS:
Congrats on a great middle school band journey. As we reach the beginning of your high school chapter, please email [email protected] or [email protected] with any HS questions.

INSTRUMENTS:
ALL school owned instruments must be turned in before Wednesday. I’m hoping to have nearly all of them on Tuesday, so that I can start checking out equipment for the summer as soon as possible. If you need to bring it from home, you or your student can drop it off in the office at any time. Just make sure it has their name on it or in it.

ALL personally owned instruments should go home on Thursday and stay there throughout the summer.

RENT TO OWN: If your student is continuing in band, these instruments should go home on Thursday and stay there throughout the summer. If your student is not continuing and you would like to return that instrument, they need to fill out a return slip (I have those for them at school) and leave them in the marked area. PLEASE NOTE: If they are not in the marked area, they will not be returned, especially if they have lost their name tag.

CONCERT UNIFORMS:
If your child is continuing in band at CMS next year, they should keep their concert uniform.

If your child is moving on from CMS or moving on from band, they should turn in their concert uniform. Please launder it and have your student bring it in on Monday or Tuesday of this week. Don’t worry about a hanger. Through generosity, we have those.

Percussion Ensemble Info:

Hello Middle School Percussion Students and Families,

I am very excited to share information for our upcoming percussion concert in May! There will be a rehearsal at LCHS on Wednesday, May 6th that is mandatory for all middle school percussionists. This rehearsal is very important to the students' success as we will discuss logistics for the concert and rehearse using the high school percussion equipment. Students should enter Door M and find their way to the auditorium stage when they arrive - there will be signs to help students. Please see the following schedule for your assigned time.

Wednesday, May 6th 5:00-5:30pm - Clark Percussion
Wednesday, May 6th 5:30-6:00pm - Grimmer Percussion
Wednesday, May 6th 6:00-6:30pm - Kahler Percussion

The Lake Central Percussion Ensemble concert will take place on Thursday, May 7th at 6:30pm at Lake Central High School. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5. All proceeds will benefit the Lake Central Percussion program. Doors will open at 6:00pm. I highly encourage everyone to stay and enjoy the High School portion of the concert that begins at 7:30pm. No additional ticket purchase is needed for the second section of the concert.

The following is information for students for the night of the concert.
Students need to wear concert black dress - typical concert attire.
Students need to arrive at 6:00pm in concert black dress and enter through Door M.
Put any personal belongings in the band room - including phones!
Walk to the auditorium, double check you have your music and all sticks, mallets, and instruments are in the auditorium.
Find your assigned seat in the chairs backstage and wait for the concert to begin.
I look forward to sharing what these students have been putting together! If there are any questions or concerns, please reach out to me via email ([email protected]). Any attendance issues or concerns need to be discussed with me prior to Monday, May 4th.

Thank you very much,

Mr. Ryan Lauciello
