Triad Middle School Band

The Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) introduced a new opportunity this year for junior high and middle school band students to participate in the Illinois Music Educators Conference in Peoria this January. Through a rigorous audition process that included thousands of talented students from across the state, Charlotte Loemker, an 8th-grade trumpet player, earned a spot in this prestigious event.

Being selected for the All-State ensemble places Charlotte among the finest young musicians in Illinois, and she will have the opportunity to perform alongside outstanding students from across the state. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishment, which is a true reflection of her hard work, dedication, and exceptional musicianship.

Good luck in January, Charlotte. We cannot wait to see you represent Triad Middle School and our communities at this remarkable event.

Yesterday, Mar. 1, was the IGSMA State Solo/Ensemble Contest at Coolidge Jr High in Granite City. TMS Band had 44 soloists and 5 ensembles perform. Those performances resulted in 14 Superior solos, 29 Excellent solos, 1 Good solo, and 5 Superior ensembles including the Pezz Band, the 8th Grade Percussion ensemble, 1 trio, and 2 duets! Congratulations to all the students that performed and represented TMS with outstanding results!

This group of TMS Band students joined about 100 other students from the bands of Madison County for the 75th annual MCBDA Band Festival today at Collinsville MS. They were directed by Dr. John Korak and performed a commissioned piece of music by Dr. Kimberly Archer from SIUE!!!

Today was the Madison County Band Director’s Association Jazz Festival. These students prepared music on their own, came prepared to rehearse with guest conductors and students from area Madison County schools, and performed an amazing class never this evening! Thanks for being outstanding representatives of Triad Middle School and our band program!!!
