Columbia County Education Campus/ Plymouth HS has been my passion and joy for the last 25 years. I helped build this program with Butch Chapin, Nancy Puente, Dale Graff, Andrea Luttrell, Gordon Jarman, and William Willey. I am the last founder in the district and have been the building leadership for over 20 years.

We’ve had some great people join us along the way such as A. Michael Colfer, Michael Sterling, Jessi Chapin, Sue Thomsen, and Bill Dash. Each of them made a positive impact on our school and students who they still have contact today. I think of each of them often and wonder “what if…”

Due to circumstances out of my control, I find myself making the heartbreaking decision to leave CCEC/Plymouth. I will be transferring to the St. Helens Virtual Academy. I will miss the students most of all...they are amazing people who will become wonderful people. I just know it!

First Full Day for All Plymouth High School Students, Sept. 8th at 7:45 am
Colleen Grogan • 2 days ago • Monday, Sep 6 at 11:56 AM • Plymouth High School

Hello PHS Students and Families,

I apologize for the late information, but things were changing almost daily so I wanted to be sure I had the most up-to-date information for you before messaging.

I recently posted the new schedules for this year which has high school students beginning school at 7:45 am. Our doors will open for those having breakfast at 7:30 am. All other students will enter the building at 7:45 am.

We will have a check-in process similar to last year before bringing students into the building. If your student is not feeling well in any way please keep them home. Their class assignments will be in Canvas so they can keep up with the class if they are feeling up to it. Please call the office at 503-366-3207 to report an absent student or you can send a note with them when they return. If the absence is COVID-19 related Public Health will need to release them before they can return to school.

School districts throughout Oregon are required by the Oregon Department of Education, Oregon Health Authority, and the Governor's Office to insist everyone in the building appropriately wear masks and social distance. If the student and/or family is not prepared to follow these guidelines the St. Helens School District can provide education to keep students on track for graduation through the St. Helens Virtual Academy. Registration for this option is on the St. Helens School District website.

We will check out chrome books, cell phone lockers, and supply totes during the first period on Sept. 8th to those who didn't receive them on Sept. 7th. Chrome books will be used regularly in classes so please keep them charged and ready to go. The chrome book is yours to use during this school year as long as you're at our school. If you should exit you would also return the chrome book. Please take care of it, but if you should need some assistance with a repair or an operating issue please let us know. This is an important tool for all students so it's important for it to be in good working order.

We will be returning to our regular grading scale of 70% or better for the final class percentage to receive credit for the class. An "Incomplete" may be requested for students who have achieved a final course grade of 60-69% with the course teacher's approval. The "Incomplete" must be resolved by the end of the next quarter or it reverts to an NG for the class and it will need to be repeated.

We are excited to see your students on Wednesday! We have high hopes for this year....may it be filled with amazing possibilities!

Take care, Colleen
