Yesterday in Discovery Studio, as part of our build the tribe carnival edition we had special guest speaker, Maxine King.

Maxine is a local balloon artist and owner of Maxine King. She talked to the learners about her job and she taught them to make some fun balloon creations of their own. To say they loved it would be an understatement! Thanks Maxine King

We are proud to share that two of our learners, Micah and James, have been selected to represent Utah at the Student Senate on AI Policy this week in Boston!

As part of America’s Youth AI Festival in Boston this weekend, our learners will explore AI’s impact on communities, learn about the legislative process, and debate a real national AI policy for K-12 schools at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute.

The policy our learners help craft will be shared with AASA’s network of more than 10,000 district leaders across the country.

James and Micah are remarkable young people and as some of the youngest participants, we could be more proud of them and excited they get to have this experience, see the MIT campus, and represent the .

We could not be more proud to have Acton Academy St. George represented on a national stage.

We love trial and error! 🙌 Our current quest in Spark and discovery is called Newton’s Toy Workshop. 🧸⚙️ Learners create toys while experiencing the laws of physics. These quests are full of trial and error! 🔁✨

Wow. Look at that Discovery exhibition crowd!!!! 🤩🤩🤩

We have some learners ready to move up to Discovery and Adventure which will create a few more spots in each studio! In addition, we’re building a new building next door to accommodate additional growth! There is no wand, no spells, and no rabbits out of a hat—but this moment is pure magic ✨

Outdoor play gives learners space to assess risk, and sometimes that means someone gets hurt. When that happens, any learner can invite another to a Peace Talk or Courageous Conversation 💬🤝

One of our youngest learners bravely invited someone much older—not to get angry, but to share how she experienced one of his actions. With the help of a peer, she spoke her truth. It was met with, “I’m sorry,” and “What can I do to make it better?” 💛

No frogs, no sparkles—but Peace Talks are a simple spell for building lifelong, peaceful conflict resolution 🪄🌱
