There is a little more meaning behind our name than you might think. When we came up with Edge Dance, we wanted something that would represent what we hope every dancer experiences here; not just while dancing, but as they grow into who they are becoming.

These four words mean a lot to us. They are a reminder of the kind of studio we want to be and the experience we want our dancers to have. 💜

We have been busy, and we’re ready to kick off a new dance season! We hope you enjoy the new studio visuals, vibes and merch! We want our dancers to know that this is a place they truly belong and a place they can call home away from home. We will continue to make sure the atmosphere and studio life is a place where each individual can elevate, discover, grow and excel the second they walk through our doors, no matter if it’s dancing in one of our 3 studios, or hanging out in the dancer lounge.

A message from Alicia Dobson, Owner & Director of Desert Edge Dance Company.

It’s been a little quiet around here, with a bit of a “they don’t know that we know they know we know” situation happening behind the scenes.

After 35 years of teaching dance and 24 years of studio ownership, I made the decision to end my time as a studio owner. McKenzie Jones, one of Desert Edge Dance Company’s teachers, is beginning a new chapter with Edge Dance as Desert Edge Dance Company ends its chapter under my ownership.

While the name and ownership are changing, many of the staff, the admin team, and the way the studio operates will remain the same, along with many new ideas to help students continue to grow.

I am so grateful to all of the families, dancers, and staff who were part of Desert Edge Dance Company. Over those 24 years, the studio became so much more than a place to take dance classes. It was filled with growth, friendships, performances, competitions, traditions, and so many special memories that are truly priceless.

Thank you to every family who trusted me with your dancers and supported the studio throughout the years. I hope the students moving into this new chapter will always remember that dance is about so much more than leg holds and fancy tricks. It is about the way it makes us feel, the confidence it builds, the friendships it creates, and the lessons we carry with us. The difficult moments and failures often teach us the most, helping us grow stronger, more resilient, and more willing to keep trying. More than anything, I hope Desert Edge Dance helped each student grow not only as a dancer, but also in the way they approach challenges, support others, and carry themselves through life.

I wish McKenzie, Edge Dance, the staff, and all of your dancers the very best as they begin this new chapter.

Open to both current and non-current students, so invite your friends, cousins, and neighbors. These short-term camps are also perfect for kids visiting from out of town and looking for something fun to do while they're here.

A great way to keep the kids active and out of the heat while you run errands, enjoy some quiet time, relax by the pool, grab brunch with a friend, or check a few things off your to-do list.
