Happy Summer Trailblazer Family! It should be pretty obvious, but this page has not been used much this past academic year. We have had some staffing changes and we have been working behind the scenes on an AWESOME project to better provide information that you would want! So we are very excited to announce that the Parent and Family Association has transitioned to https://utahtech.campusesp.com/. Some of you may have already received an email invitation, but if not, you can click the link, sign up with an email, Facebook, or LinkedIn! Once you sign up, you can get personalized newsletters and announcements up to EVERY WEEK (or once a month, you can decide)! These newsletters include information about issues college students face, how to advocate for your students, and ways that you can support them as a family member!
This also means this will be the last post in the Parent & Family Association page! Thanks, and see you in CampusESP!

Parenting a college student is different than parenting a high school student. Hopefully many of you have been able to start transitioning into a more hands off parenting style to allow your student room to grow. We would love to hear success stories in the comments. It's okay if you’re still working on it, it will take time. We are here to support you. With the start of a new semester we wanted to share two articles we thought could give more insight on how to let go while also being involved in your students college experience.
These articles are from BU Today’s special series “Parents’ Survival Guide."

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We are excited to have your students back on campus for classes on January 11. We are looking forward to seeing what wonderful things this year will hold for your students. Has your student set any New Year goals that involve their education? While it is important for your students to choose their own goals, you can still encourage them to think about what they want to accomplish this year and write them down. If they are willing to share you can also support them in reaching whatever it is they set their minds to.

With many of your students home for the holidays we wanted to remind you that Dixie State has many resources to help students succeed! Take time to talk with your students about what resources they utilized this past semester and how it helped them. You may also want to talk about the resources they did not use and how they can be helpful in the future. If you want a refresher on any of our resources visit, https://resources.dixie.edu/. Let us know if you have any questions regarding any of them.
