On October 21, 2022, WCSD brought together ALL of our elementary teachers K-5 for Professional Development on how to integrate Computer Science into core subjects Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies! WCSD is launching elementary computer science in 28/28 of our elementary schools this year and now offers computer science education in EVERY school in our school district K-12 for EVERY student. Learning innovative and creative problem solving and critical thinking skills is important to every educational discipline and to every career pathway in today's world! At the big elementary kick-off event, teachers and schools received equipment purchased from the Utah Computer Science K-12 Initiative Grant and were then trained on that equipment. Follow us to learn of our journey through this exciting implementation!
