Tomorrow is opening day at dewey day camp, and I am just giddy!

Dewey day camp has been a dream of mine, long before it had a name. Even as a little girl, while playing house, I pretended to be a "daycare lady"

After 11 years of working as a private nanny, I'm so excited to continue my passion without the commute! I'm so lucky to have Mr. Dewey make all of this possible. Opening a daycare is expensive! There's lots of home renovations that had to be done, a fence, and toys, and playground, and cots, and cribs, and curriculum. There's art supplies, office supplies, licensing fees, the 3 printers I burned through printing off games and puzzles and art projects. There's continuing education, pint sized furniture, and a dreamy storage shed keeping all these goodies organized.

Aside from all that, he literally built this daycare. A year ago, this perfect playroom was a cold concrete space waiting to become my favorite room in the house. I spent hours sketching what I wanted it to look like. He built me a bathroom, a kitchen space, an office, and a supply closet, and now he's turning our backyard into a kiddie paradise.

So thank you mr. Dewey Day camp for working overtime to pay for it, and spending all your time off building it. Because of you, I get to start my dream job tomorrow 😍

Sadly Dewey Day Camp will not be opening this fall as planned due to unexpected family medical issues. I anticipate opening in early April, so keep checking in for updates, and progress on the new playroom!

Working on curriculum this week! I may be a little ahead of myself, but I get just as excited about Christmas crafts and games as the kids do! Cannot wait to see how the kiddos decorate the dramatic play space, I love their little festive minds at work!

New Daycare coming to St. Francis this fall!

After 11 years working as a private nanny, I've decided to open my own in home daycare. I have a degree in elementary education, and am a former child care instructor for the Red Cross. Child development is a major passion of mine, and I attend as many classes and trainings as I can to stay current on the latest research regarding early education and brain development.
