Saint Francis de Sales Seminary

Saint Francis de Sales Seminary Priestly formation in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Saint Francis de Sales Seminary is one of the oldest Catholic seminaries in the United States.

We have operated longer at our original site than any other seminary in the nation. Founded in 1845, over 4,000 priests have been formed at the Seminary.

A fire started this morning during construction on the front porch of Henni Hall at Saint Francis de Sales Seminary. The fire has been extinguished, and the cause is under investigation by the fire department. No injuries were reported.

Today we celebrate the Memorial of Blessed Solanus Casey, a beloved priest whose story began right here in our diocese.

Born in Pierce County, Blessed Solanus went on to become a Capuchin priest known for his remarkable humility and trust in God's providence. His life is a beautiful reminder that holiness can begin right here at home. Blessed Solanus, pray for us!
