Eddie is a Garfield alum.
On Saturday from noon until 2:00 PM, WXYG welcomed Ed Cheeseman to the mic (through the telephone) for a show that was primarily inspired by the 8-tracks and cassettes that Ed bought at garage sales in his low-budget youth. Although he is now known by many folks around town as "Kayak Eddie", his early life was not so serene as the flowing floating experience he now promotes. Eddie was an unashamed enthusiast of drugs, s*x and Rock & Roll...sometimes all at the same time. He has now left one of those behind, but during his show Ed told stories of excess, misadventure and close encounters with outlaw bikers and rock stars. AC/DC, Nazareth, Aerosmith, Zeppelin, Ted Nugent, Steppenwolf and Thin Lizzy provided the soundtrack, tempered by The Beatles and Bob Dylan along with Eddie's charm and humor. His goal was to help you bang your head and make Al choke on his coffee while on the air. HE EXCEEDED HIS GOAL. What a GREAT SHOW. Thank you Ed.
