We are just one week away from the 16th Annual STRIDE Scramble Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Monday, June 15th at Wapicada Golf & Event Center, with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start!

🌱 Our school community garden is growing! 🌿

We are proud recipients of a generous grant from the Whole Foods Market Foundation, and thanks to this support, our students are getting hands-on learning experiences right in our garden spaces.

A special shoutout to our lead garden teacher, Mrs. Distad (formerly Gibson), along with our amazing students and staff, who have been hard at work preparing the garden beds and planting for the season. 🌼🥕🌻

We are honored to be part of this foundation’s mission and deeply grateful for the opportunities this brings to our students — encouraging learning, teamwork, sustainability, and connection to the world around them. We cannot wait to watch everything grow! 🌞🌱

STRIDE Academy Announces Newly Elected Board of Directors Members

STRIDE Academy is excited to announce the results of the recent Board of Directors election and congratulate our newly elected board members: Pamela Holubetz, Erica Louis, Kimberly Carlson, and Stephen Schueller.

These individuals were elected to serve three-year terms from July 2026 through June 2029 and will officially be sworn in during the July Board of Directors meeting.

Please join us in welcoming these new members:

Pamela Holubetz – Pam is a longtime educator with 22 years of teaching experience in District 742 and brings a strong background in curriculum work, mentoring new teachers, and supporting student learning.

Erica Louis – Erica is a dedicated STRIDE Academy teacher entering her 7th year at the school, with experience in multilingual learning, curriculum work, and student activities and athletics.

Kimberly Carlson – Kimberly is an educator passionate about strengthening communication and collaboration between students, families, and staff while supporting STRIDE Academy’s student-centered culture.

Stephen Schueller – Steven is a military veteran, STRIDE parent, and community member with a background in criminal justice who values accountability, safety, and strong support for students and families.

STRIDE Academy would also like to sincerely thank all individuals who filed to run for the Board of Directors. Your willingness to step forward, serve, and support the future of STRIDE Academy is greatly appreciated. We are fortunate to have stakeholders who care deeply about our students, families, staff, and school community.

Reminder! Join us this Thursday, May 28, from 4:00–6:00 PM for our Family Technology Support & Registration event at STRIDE Academy Elementary School!

This is a come-and-go event for adults/caregivers to receive support with:
• ParentSquare
• Skyward
• Clever
• K–8 registration for new or returning families

STRIDE staff will be available to answer questions, assist with technology setup, and share information about STRIDE Academy.

Families can also learn how students can use Learning Ally this summer for free access to more than 80,000 audiobooks to help support summer reading.

Stop in anytime between 4:00–6:00 PM — we look forward to supporting our STRIDE families!

Bee Update from STRIDE Academy! 🐝

Our middle school beekeeping elective continues to provide students with hands-on learning experiences while also supporting the growth of our school Pollinator Project.

Hive 1, our original hive, miraculously survived the winter. While the colony made it through the colder months, the hive is currently queenless. After introducing a new queen, we have not yet seen evidence of new brood, which likely means she was not accepted by the colony. Currently, a worker bee has begun laying eggs, but worker bees can only produce drones (male bees).

To help strengthen Hive 1, we transferred a frame of fresh brood from Hive 2 in hopes that the colony will raise a new queen from one of the female larvae.

The exciting news is that Hives 2 and 3 are thriving and adjusting very well! Next week, students plan to add honey supers and additional frames to support honey production as the colonies continue to grow.

Projects like this help students experience science, environmental stewardship, pollination, and agriculture in a real-world and meaningful way right here at STRIDE Academy.

A special shoutout to our lead beehive teachers, Mr. Coté and Mrs. Gibson, for the time, care, and knowledge they pour into this incredible opportunity for students!

Today, STRIDE middle school students partnered with the City of St. Cloud Parks & Recreation to honor Arbor Day by planting trees at Beaver Island Park.

This marks STRIDE’s third year participating in community tree planting efforts as part of St. Cloud’s continued commitment as a Tree City USA community. We are proud of these young stewards for giving back and helping care for the environment right here in our community.
