“I want to be a scientist who builds robots. How can I do that for firefighters?”

The highlight of these trips is seeing our learners’ excitement and then witnessing that lightbulb moment. 💡That question stopped us all in our tracks. A learner was connecting a dream to a purpose: using something they love to help others.

When a child who has been overlooked or counted out begins imagining what they can become, it reminds us exactly why we are building this space.

We welcome learners with different learning styles, abilities, and needs. We give them room to be themselves, ask questions, explore their interests, and grow into their possibilities.

Sometimes, a trip opens a door that a worksheet never could. And sometimes one question reminds you that the work you’re doing matters. 💚

This weekend, let's put kindness into action!
Challenge every family member to complete one unexpected act of kindness.
It could be helping a sibling, preparing something for another family member, sharing an encouraging word, or completing a household responsibility without being asked.
At the end of the day, come together and share what everyone experienced.

Today’s visit to the Council on Aging was filled with connection, culture, and learning! 💚

As we prepare for our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, our PTKC learners gained insight into the cultural backgrounds and life experiences of the program participants. These conversations brought heritage to life, reminding us that every person has a story worth hearing and every generation has something valuable to share.

Thank you to the Council on Aging staff and participants for welcoming us and helping our learners build meaningful connections across generations. What a beautiful way to learn about culture, honor community, and celebrate one another! 🌎✨
