My son enjoys his time at Children's Day Montessori greatly and the bonds formed with his teachers are delightful; he often tells me about things he's learning and is always proud to show me milestones he has achieved (like cutting vegetables or being able to do a dance). He has always spoken warmly about each of the staff members at the school, especially his teachers. When he was just starting at CDM, he came home one day and told me he had been badly behaved. "I made my teacher really mad today and she was not happy with me. I still love my teacher so much." This humorous conversation illustrated how children are treated with compassion as individuals at the school; he knew he should not have done something and probably learned to stop that behavior because of the care taken in the response. I am very pleased with how much my son has grown as an individual at the school; his self awareness and awareness of others, his ability to communicate what he is feeling, his good working knowledge about the world, and his interests in music and gardening can all be attributed to the excellent curriculum at the school. Staff at CDM are truly partners with parents, not only in education, but also in care.
