I think Mother Nature is having a hot flash with the weeks of extreme heat and humidity. Hopefully, you are staying well hydrated and staying in the AC. Have you spent time in your sewing rooms, Shop Hopping, deep cleaning rooms, organizing stuff, bing watching tv/movie series, reading books or gathering with friends/family? It would be nice if you would share in the comments.

As the month of July is wrapping up, August is around the corner and our next meeting will be on August 6th.

Our speaker will be Cindy Bader - "Concept to Creations"
creator of Patterns on the Prairie

Cindy Bader is the quilt pattern designer behind Patterns on the Prairie (based out of Marshall, MN) she was a vendor at our last Quilt Show. She teaches mosaic applique using fusible techniques designed to make quilts "faster, simpler, and more beginner friendly". Her goal is to create well written patterns that are easy to follow and let quilters of any experience level create modern, gorgeous unique quilts. Cindy will explain her creative process from initial concept to final pattern creation.

Is it just me or do you feel like June just flew by. How many attended the Finding Freedom Quilt Shop Hop? It was my 1st Shop Hop, had lots of fun traveling to new stores, found some favorites along the way.

Finding Freedom Shop Hop

Hope you had ladies had a wonderful Mother's day. Enjoy your long Memorial Day weekend. Safe travels for those of you who are traveling this weekend.

Thursday, June 4th is our next guild meeting. Doors open at 6:30 p.m with meeting starting at 7:00 p.m. Our speaker this month is Laura Deleski.

Button Button Who's got Buttons?
Laura is a vintage Button collector. Learn the history of buttons and how Laura became a collector of these useful little gems. You can bring buttons to share with Laura. Learn if they are vintage and if have any value.

Signs of spring are showing up outside, flowers starting to bloom, trees getting their buds, yards turning green, happy singing birds and people getting out of their houses enjoying the fresh air by walking, riding bike or seeing kids playing outside. I saw a snapping turtle already this spring.

Our May meeting will be on the 7th - doors open at 6:30 p.m at Love of Christ Lutheran Church on Pine Cone Road. Meeting will start at 7:00.

Chaska Quilt Guild will have on display their raffle quilt for their 2026 Quilt Show and will be selling tickets.

Our speaker this month is our very own Terri Bahn, who is a very talented art quilter. Her presentation will be on “Creating A Portrait Art Quilt” . She will be showing and explaining many different techniques to create a portrait art quilt. She hopes to inspire our members to try a technique using their pet or favorite person as the focal point of the quilt. One technique is perfect for a beginner and she will share that with the group.

Reminder that our meeting is moved to April 16th due to the Easter.

Our April 16th speaker will be our very own Marlyn Anderson. She will be doing a trunk show on her journing from the beginning to current. It's going to be so much fun getting to see all of her paper piecing Fireworks quilts and many other quilts.

Our guild hosted a Sewing day today and had around 16 people. Was a productive get together. Quite a few of us complete tops, got binding sewn on quilts, a project cut out, an apron was made and one machine quilted. Lots of conversations. As always new things were learned. Who else spent the day sewing?

March has arrived, day light savings happens this weekend are you ready to lose and hour of sleep?

Thursday, March 5th is our next guild meeting. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.. located at Love of Christ Lutheran Church 1971 Pine Cone Road S., St. Cloud, MN 56303.

Our speaker will be Colby Cartledge and her topic will be "“Color Theory, Understanding Color" Think outside the fabric collection and learn how to choose fabrics for your quilts using color theory. Learn color theory and how to use your knowledge when picking fabrics for your next quilt. Through interactive trial and error, you will walk away with pointers on how to make your next quilt pop.

Hopefully you have all renewed your membership, if not, this is your last month to renew to keep up to date on guild happenings.

March 20th is the 1st day of Spring - have you seen any signs of spring in your yards yet?
