Learning Through Our Names!

Our Pre-K4 students had so much fun creating their own name signs while building important early learning skills! Through this hands-on activity, they practiced recognizing their names and letters while strengthening fine-motor skills, letter awareness, and visual discrimination.

And, of course, they got to be creative! Each student proudly decorated their name and created something uniquely their own.

Learning, creating, and growing—one letter at a time!

During this week’s school Mass, Father Derek asked the students an important question: What does it mean to be jealous? He explained that jealousy was a struggle even among the early Christian communities. In his letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul reminds them that their jealousy and disagreements were signs that they were still thinking like children. They had lost sight of the many blessings God had already given them.

Father Derek encouraged our students to shift their focus from what others have to the blessings in their own lives. He reminded them to wake up each day with grateful hearts and to recognize all that God has provided.

When we take time to appreciate our blessings and give thanks for God’s gifts, there is little room left for jealousy. Instead, gratitude allows us to see just how much we have been given.

Predict, Observe, Discover!

Our fourth graders put their science skills to the test with a hands-on M&M experiment! Students made predictions about what would happen when an M&M was placed in plain water, water with one teaspoon of sugar, and water with three teaspoons of sugar.

Working together, they observed the changes, recorded their results, and compared them with their predictions.

It was a sweet way to learn that scientists don’t always know what will happen—and that curiosity, observation, and asking questions lead to discovery!

Seeing God’s Creation Through an Artist’s Eyes!

Our middle school artists are slowing down, looking closely, and discovering the beauty of God’s creation through observational drawings of plants from our school campus!

Students are exploring contour line and blind contour drawing, challenging themselves to focus carefully on the details they see. Through quiet, focused artmaking, they are strengthening their concentration, observation, and artistic skills.

This hands-on experience is a beautiful reminder that art takes patience, thoughtfulness, and practice—while helping our students appreciate and care for the world God has created.

Safety First in the Science Lab!

Before our sixth-grade scientists dive into hands-on experiments and exciting discoveries, they’re learning one of the most important lessons of all: lab safety!

Students kicked off the school year by reviewing essential safety rules and procedures they’ll follow throughout the year. Using their Chromebooks, they watched an instructional video covering important lab safety practices and then completed a worksheet to demonstrate what they learned.

These foundational lessons help our young scientists develop the habits they need to work safely, responsibly, and confidently in the lab.

With safety knowledge in place, our sixth graders are ready to ask questions, conduct experiments, make observations, and explore the fascinating world of science!

Double Happy Birthday!

This weekend, we’re celebrating not one, but TWO special birthdays! Mrs. Gomez and her assistant, Mrs. Trejos, will both be celebrating their birthdays, and their students and families made sure to make them feel extra special!

They surprised the birthday ladies with beautiful flowers, balloons, and a special gift. Mrs. Gomez and Mrs. Trejos were completely surprised and touched by the thoughtful celebration.
