After serving with the Palatka Police Department for the last year, recent SJR State Law Enforcement Academy graduate Matthew Dickerson has been named Rookie of the Year! According to Chief of Police, Jason L. Shaw, Sr., his hard work, devotion, attention to detail and positive service make him a true asset to the team.

Congratulations to our recent St. Johns River State College Criminal Justice Academy graduates!

During the ceremony, Nicholas King received the Academic Achiever award for the highest GPA and Corey Johnson received the Most Proficient in Fi****ms award. The guest speaker was Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook.

The graduates include Dustin Douglas, Michael Fay, Alexa Gatlin, Tyler Gill, Anthony Harrell, Dametrius Harrison, Joshua Howey, Corey Johnson, Kadin Jones, Christopher King, Nicholas King, Jonathan Kuprian, Hailey Mason, Colton Masters, Daniel Moreland, Josh Mourao, Mallory Moyers, Annette Nalley, Vernon Pinkney, Bryon Quinquinio, Lisa Rainsberger, Joshua Schneider, Thomas Shumaker, Terrance Slocum, Kobe Speros, Dalton Spinks, Cole Vaughan, Caleb Virnstein, Sean Willison, Dillon Wolfe, and Bradley Wright.

Brooke Dicey was also recognized for completing the Correctional Officer Basic Recruit program.

Located at the St. Augustine campus, SJR State’s Criminal Justice Academy and provides job-related training to prepare cadets for entry-level employment in the field. Upon completion of the certificate programs, cadets will be eligible to take the state certification exam. The certificates also provide credit hours that can be transferred to SJR State’s associate in science degree in criminal justice technology.

Congratulations to our latest Florida Corrections Officer Academy graduates.
The graduates include Arabella Blanks, Bailyn Futch, Maxwell Martin, Bryce Turner and Savannah Wells. !

During the ceremony, Bailyn Futch was recognized for special achievement, receiving the awards for Highest Academic Achiever and Most Proficient in Fi****ms.

The guest speaker was Tara Wildes, General Services Director for the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

The Florida Corrections Officer Academy career certificate program provides job-related training to prepare candidates for entry-level employment as corrections officers. The curriculum is prescribed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission in accordance with Florida Statutes. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible to take the state exam for corrections officer. The certificates also provide credits that can be transferred to SJR State’s associate in science degree in criminal justice technology.

Congratulations, Cadets! The SJR State Criminal Justice Academy recognized its latest graduates on Tuesday.
During the ceremony, three cadets were recognized for special achievement. Samantha Dangerfield (Clay County) was presented with the Academic Achiever award for obtaining the highest GPA. William Mitchell (St. Johns County) received the Medallion award for the highest overall achievement and class leadership. Matthew Lawrence (St. Johns County) received the Most Proficient in Fi****ms award.

The guest speaker was E.J. Guzman, Green Cove Springs Chief of Police.
