Thursday, May 7, 2026 chapel message: Leaving a Mark
1 Timothy 4:12- Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
You do not need to be older to influence people. Every student in this room is already leading someone.
Our choices matter as we lead:
Honesty, including others, respect, effort, what you do when no one else is looking, attitude
Gossip, disobedience, bad attitude, name calling, exclusion, anger, dishonesty
Jesus left the greatest mark.
Acts 10:38- Jesus went around doing good
He loved, He listened, he healed, he gave hope, people wanted to be near him
How do people feel after they have been around you?
Matthew 5:16-"Let your light shine before me, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
Your mark, your one choice can affect many people. One leader can change a whole group. One encouragement can change a classroom, and one negative attitude spreads to others also.
This school year is ending but your influence is not.
Reflect on what mark you have left.
What can you do over the summer- camps, sports, vacations, home, online, friendships?
What kind of mark do you want to leave next year?
Was anyone changed for the good because of you?
Were painful memories left and you need to apologize?
Don't just leave memories. Leave people stronger, encouraged, and closer to Jesus.
Be an example to others in the way you speak, the way you behave, the way you love, how you show your faith, and in your purity.

1. Continue in what you have learned. The good and the tough. You have been taught the truth. Don’t dismiss your teachings.
2. Trust in the power of God’s Word. Don’t put it down for the summer. It’s still applicable.
3. Step into what God is drawing you into next. Be a leader that God has called you to be. You are not just a spectator.
4. Gospel is for everyone.
