Last week, President Snow served as a guest reader for the FSDB 3rd Grade Summer Reading Camp in the Deaf Elementary School. Students are diving into Roald Dahl's Matilda, with guest readers taking on the role of narrator while Ms. Maddy Brady, their teacher, fully embraces one of the story's characters. On the day President Snow visited, Ms. Brady transformed into the unforgettable Ms. Trunchbull, the headmistress of Crunchem Hall Primary School.
Reading is fun, and when you add creativity and engagement, students become more interested and confident in their learning.
Description: President Snow stands next to Ms. Brady aka Ms. Trunchbull while holding a copy of Matilda. Ms. Truchbull, true to her character, has her hands on her hips and is scowling at the camera.

The little detectives worked together gathering evidence, creating a list of suspects, interrogating them, and ultimately finding the culprit of the crime- our front office secretary, Kevin!! There was a lot of teamwork involved! The K-2 camp kids had so much problem-solving and they even got a visit from the police with their K9! Way to go kids!! Tsk tsk Kevin!

Our first day of K–2 Camp was a great success!
This year’s theme is “Who Did It?” — a mystery-themed camp where our campers become detectives on a mission to solve a crime. This week’s mystery: someone destroyed our camp bulletin board!
Today, students discovered there are four suspects and learned several new vocabulary words, including destroy, suspect, detective, and who?
Throughout the week, students will use math, ASL, English, writing, and science skills to investigate clues, analyze evidence, learn fingerprinting techniques, and work together to identify the culprit.
We’re excited for two weeks filled with problem-solving, learning, teamwork, and fun. Stay tuned as the mystery unfolds!
🕵️♂️🔍 Here’s to two weeks of detective work and adventure!

This canvas painting, created in Bilingual Language Arts class, beautifully represents the journey of our K–5 students through their handprints and thumbprints. Kindergarten students form the sunshine, 1st graders create the wave caps, 2nd–4th graders make up the rolling ocean waves, and our 5th graders become birds soaring toward new horizons, symbolizing their upcoming transition to middle school. Together, these painted prints tell the story of growth, learning, and the exciting journey ahead. 🌞🌊🕊️
